Job description
The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, technology development, warfighter capability enablers, systems integration, defense industrial base, and threat reduction to help shape existing and future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including the U.S. Space Force, U.S. Space Command, Air Force Material Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of technical support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers' portfolios as well as horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. Additionally, DSG provides deep technical expertise to the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception, design, acquisition, launch and operations of satellite, launch vehicle, ground control, and range systems.
In the Vulcan Development and Operations (VDO) subdivision of DSG, we are seeking a Systems Director for Performance & Control Analysis. In this role, you will manage the team providing performance and control analysis of the Vulcan rocket, to help the US Space Force procure and assure successful space launches within the national security space launch (NSSL) program. You will ensure technically sound and objective assessments are provided, including actionable recommendations, within appropriate timelines and budget allocations. You will work with other managers in VDO to set strategy and achieve goals. And you will build, mentor, and sustain a team that provides technical depth and FFRDC unique capability while working closely with military, civilian, and contractor staff. The Vulcan rocket has been assigned the most exciting, unique, and critical launch missions. We seek someone to lead the performance and control analysis team, dedicated to the success of those missions and sustaining competitive space access into the future.

- Act as interface between staff, USSF SSC customer, launch vehicle contractor, and the NRO Office of Space Launch
- Mentor new Space Force officers to help them gain familiarity with technical processes and tasks associated with technical analysis disciplines
- Effectively communicate status and progress of management and technical activities, issues and accomplishments through written reports and presentations to Aerospace, Government customers, and contractor teams
