This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for driving net-new revenue, owning a book of business, and ensuring long-term customer retention and expansion across NPM’s private market data platform, Tape D.

The Sales Director owns the full commercial lifecycle for their accounts, from initial close through renewal and expansion, and is directly accountable for hitting quota, maintaining account health, and mitigating churn. This role sits at the center of NPM’s go-to-market motion for institutional customers and plays a critical role in scaling predictable, durable data revenue.

You’ll work closely with the VP of Sales, Marketing, Product, Data, and Strategic Partnerships to convert inbound and outbound opportunities into long-term customer relationships, while also supporting larger enterprise and strategic opportunities as they mature.

ResponsibilitiesNet-New Revenue & Quota Ownership
  • Own and close net-new, non-enterprise sales opportunities end-to-end, carrying a defined revenue quota and driving consistent new business growth.
  • Actively prospect and develop new logo opportunities through outbound efforts, strategic networking, and account mapping, independent of inbound or SDR-generated leads.
  • Convert inbound leads and premium Stripe sign-ups into contract-based customers.
  • Prospect and farm inbound and outbound accounts that are not immediately ready to transact, nurturing relationships over time.
  • Fully own and manage your book of business, including renewals, expansions, and upsells.
  • Grow your book of business through a combination of renewals, expansions, and new customer acquisition.
  • Maintain strong account health, product adoption, and customer satisfaction to reduce churn and maximize lifetime value.
  • Maintain a clean, accurate pipeline with disciplined CRM hygiene and reliable forecasting.
  • Proactively manage deal stages, risks, timelines, and renewal cycles.
  • Provide regular reporting to management on pipeline health, revenue performance, renewals, expansions, and churn risk.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with SDRs on qualification standards, outbound alignment, and handoff processes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product to refine messaging, campaigns, and feature prioritization based on customer feedback.
  • Support the VP of Sales and Chief Strategy Officer on enterprise and strategic opportunities as accounts mature.
  • Coordinate with strategic and distribution partners if relevant to your accounts.
Customer Experience & Strategic Insight
  • Serve as a senior commercial representative and trusted advisor to institutional clients.
  • Identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities across customer feedback and usage to inform leadership and strengthen NPM’s data offering.
  • Help refine repeatable sales playbooks, processes, and GTM strategies as the business scales.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or revenue roles within fintech, financial data, SaaS, or capital markets.
  • Proven ability to carry and hit quota while managing renewals and expansions.
  • Experience owning a book of business and driving retention and growth.
  • Strong deal management, forecasting, and CRM discipline (Salesforce experience preferred).
  • Comfort engaging with sophisticated institutional buyers and senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to manage multiple deal cycles and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.
Preferrable (not required):
  • Experience selling financial data, indices, analytics, or market infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with private markets, venture capital, private equity, or institutional investing workflows.
