The Opportunity This position works out of our Plymouth, MN site, supporting our Electrophysiology Medical Devices team.

In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. Supporting our New Product Introduction team, the NPI Buyer position is a dynamic role within EP supply chain, supporting both research and development and new product teams. The NPI Buyer is responsible for procurement support of current NPI projects, working under direction to support all basic aspects of purchasing in conformance with Abbott policies.

This position is responsible for executing best practice in purchasing raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods. WHAT YOU'LL DO Create and process purchase orders, both direct and indirect, in accordance with documented procurement processes to include standard, subcontract, stock transfer, down-payment, and discount orders. Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of project demands by working with cross-functional teams to include engineering, sourcing, planning, category, and shipping-receiving.

Process purchase requisitions and confer with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule, reviewing quotes and acknowledgements for accuracy. Responsible for supporting and maintaining mutually beneficial long-term partnership with suppliers, enhancing good business relationships with Abbott. Manage orders through completion and execute invoice resolution through order closure.

Experience You'll Bring Good working knowledge of Procurement concepts, procedures, and practices General knowledge of SAP ERP system preferred Will perform this job in a quality system environment Working knowledge and application of business concepts, procedures, and practices Required Qualifications 1-2 years of experience in purchasing/commodity management. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
