Overview

We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented Department Leads to oversee key areas of our store, including NOSH (Organic/Healthy Foods), Health & Beauty (HABA), and Core Grocery. In these roles, you will manage daily operations for your designated section, ensure strict inventory control, and lead a team to deliver excellent customer service. Your organizational skills and leadership will help maintain clean, safe, and efficient departments that keep our customers satisfied.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and support your department team to provide friendly and efficient service.
  • Coordinate closely with Store Receivers to check in vendor shipments, verify invoice accuracy, and ensure the prompt breakdown and delivery of department pallets.
  • Oversee daily department operations, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and ensuring proper storage of items.
  • Vigilantly check product expiration dates and enforce strict stock rotation to ensure zero expired items are on display.
  • Manage inventory levels, place department orders, and control waste or loss to optimize sales and minimize shortages.
  • Ensure all items are properly faced, labeled, priced, and merchandised according to store and safety standards.
  • Use scanners and POS handheld devices for pricing accuracy, tag management, and inventory tracking.
  • Train staff on safety procedures, proper product handling, and customer service expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with store safety, food handling (where applicable), and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, grocery, or inventory management, preferably with familiarity in organic foods, health & beauty products, or center-store grocery.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with receivers and vendors during shipment drop-offs.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, stock rotation practices, and expiration date monitoring.
  • Excellent customer service skills and sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in grocery or retail stores is preferred.
