Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts is seeking an exceptional Massage Therapy Instructor to join our dedicated educational team.

About the Role:

We are looking for an organized, motivated, and self-directed instructor who can bring both clinical expertise and enthusiasm to the classroom. The ideal candidate is confident teaching foundational massage skills while also helping students develop the critical thinking, assessment, and treatment planning abilities needed to work effectively with injury and pain conditions.

As an instructor, you will educate, mentor, and inspire students while helping maintain a positive, professional, and engaging learning environment.


What You'll Teach:

  • Full-body Swedish massage techniques and body mechanics
  • Clinical injury assessment and evaluation skills
  • Orthopedic and clinical manual therapy techniques
  • Treatment planning for injury recovery and rehabilitation
  • Kinesiology, including:
  • Muscle origins and insertions
  • Muscle actions and functions
  • Palpation skills
  • Functional anatomy
  • Massage theory, ethics, and professional practice
  • Clinical reasoning and client-centered care


What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of Swedish massage and clinical massage techniques
  • Experience with orthopedic assessment and injury treatment approaches
  • Solid understanding of kinesiology and anatomy
  • Ability to effectively teach muscle attachments, actions, and palpation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and classroom management abilities
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive
  • Passion for education and student success
  • Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Washington State Massage Therapist license
  • Teaching, mentoring, or clinical supervision experience
  • Experience working with injury rehabilitation, pain management, or orthopedic massage
  • Commitment to professional excellence and lifelong learning
