Job Title: Line Leader
Reports To: Production Supervisor

Description / Scope / Mission
Responsible for filling Assemblers ensuring all tasks and duties are fulfilled in the operation of producing a quality product at specified quantities in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
  1. Accountability to meet performance objectives, (KPI's/metrics).
  2. Direct/coach/mentor assigned assembly team to assist in meeting performance metrics.
  3. Responsible for safety, quality, service (delivery), and cost (OEE, scrap, and labor.)
  4. Develop, maintain, and improve pre and postproduction checklists detailing steps to startup, run, and shutdown of line.
  5. Visual confirmation of items by position at line start up.
  6. Supervise and train pump/cap table team to assist in completing the line tasks.
  7. Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot filler and monitor consumables/spares.
  8. Perform weight checks in production per QC paperwork. Note trends in variation and take corrective and preventative actions.
  9. Clean and sanitize filler, setup (changeover), and start production.
  10. Maintain the master downtime for the team.
  11. 5S work area (end of shift and end of week deep cleaning.)
  12. Update setup binder at completion of SFO.
  13. Perform PM on filler area equipment and conveyors.
  14. Shutdown equipment at end of shift.
  15. Cross train with Palletizers to cover absences and promote SME's, Subject Matter Experts.
  16. Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in basic math.
  • Helpful to have some Assembly experience at Northern Labs and/or leadership experience.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
  • None.

Specific Knowledge: (Technical/Product, Organizational and Interpersonal)
  • Climb or balance up to 1/3 of the time.
  • Reach above shoulders; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
  • Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or touch; talk or hear; and taste or smell 2/3 and more of the time.
  • Up to 10 pounds to be lifted or forced to be exerted 2/3 and more of the time.
  • Up to 50 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED:
  • Wrenches/hand tools 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
  • Scales, torque machine, label machines, coder, filler, capper other production equipment as required.
  • Calculators, on/off buttons on machinery and pens 2/3 and more of the time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PPE REQUIRED:
  • Exposure to various chemicals 2/3 and more of the time.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts 2/3 and more of the time.
  • Moderate noise level 2/3 of the time during normal line duties.
  • Loud noise level 1/3 of the time from running motors form surrounding machinery.
  • PPE is required for specific jobs and when PPE is required, the LOI will specify what is needed.

COMMENTS
Be aware of your surroundings. Be aware of emergency stop buttons, walkways, exits. Always be prepared for your next step of duties.
