Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides skilled therapy services to residents, including evaluation, development, and implementation of treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
Responsibilities
Perform speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and goals.
Complete timely and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, and progress.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge recommendations.
Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in speech-language pathology from an accredited program (master's preferred per state requirements).
Current, unencumbered ST or SLP license in the state of Tennessee.
Long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred.
