Job description

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Engineer leads the technical infrastructure, integrations, and operational reliability of the Institute’s Human Capital Management (HCM) and related business systems. This role serves as the primary technical owner of the server, database, and integration environments supporting ERP platforms across both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments, ensuring system availability, security, and performance. The ERP Engineer plays a critical role in the Institute’s transition to cloud-based ERP platforms, including Workday, and assumes ongoing ownership of infrastructure and integrations post-migration. This position partners closely with the ERP Business Systems Analyst team, contributing deep technical expertise while maintaining clear separation between infrastructure responsibilities and application configuration.

* This is a hybrid role

1. Maintains and monitors the server and database infrastructure supporting ERP and HCM platforms, including Infor and related systems, ensuring system performance, availability, and capacity.
2. Manages and monitors integrations between ERP platforms and enterprise systems, including Active Directory, SSO/identity providers, and third-party data feeds, resolving data and interface issues.
3. Serves as the technical escalation point for ERP infrastructure issues, troubleshooting across server, database, network, and integration layers.
4. Collaborate with the ERP Business Systems Analyst to investigate and resolve issues as needed.
5. Plans and coordinate scheduled and emergency maintenance and Change Control activities, ensuring proper approvals are obtained and communications to stakeholders.
6. Oversees SSL certificate management and documentation for ERP systems, coordinating with IS and vendors to ensure timely renewals.
7. Manages Windows and OS-level security patching for ERP server environments, coordinating schedules and documentation of inventory and schedules. Validates updates in development and test environments prior to promotion to production.
8. Manages backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for ERP platform data and server environments.
9. Conducts and documents periodic recovery testing to ensure recoverability meets defined recovery time and point objectives.
10. Assists with the development and testing of application enhancements related to the various Business Solutions systems.
11. Partners with IS leadership and the Lead Engineer to maintain technical documentation for ERP infrastructure and contribute to IS-wide change management and standards processes.
12. Provides infrastructure support for ERP enhancements, vendor engagements, upgrades, and implementations, ensuring system readiness and alignment.
13. Maintains knowledge of relevant technologies, including HCM platforms, database management, and integration practices.
14. Supports day-to-day operations by monitoring the SEA queue, triaging tickets, and maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies.
