Position: 1st Class Shipfitter 
Job Location: Pascagoula, MS 
Trade Team Branch: Mobile, AL
Rate of Pay: Local Day Shift: $28.25 per hour| Non-Local Day Shift: $18.00hr/$120.00 per diem for those who qualify

DESCRIPTION:
Trade Team USA is seeking experienced 1st Class Shipfitters for opportunities at Bollinger Mississippi Repair in Pascagoula, MS. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of shipyard experience and be able to successfully complete Bollinger's required fit and tacking test.
Shipfitters will work from drawings and layouts to fit, assemble, and fabricate structural components using various types of material. Candidates should be experienced in shipyard structural fabrication and capable of completing work accurately from provided drawings.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 3 years of shipyard Shipfitter experience required.
  • Must have 1st Class Shipfitter-level experience.
  • Must successfully complete the Fit and Tacking Test.
  • Must be able to read and interpret shipfitting drawings and layouts.
  • Must be able to use provided drawings to lay out, fit, and assemble various structural materials.
  • Must be able to work the assigned day or night shift.
  • Must be available to work 40–70 hours per week as required.
  • Must be willing and able to work mandatory overtime when required by project needs.
  • Must follow all shipyard safety, quality, and production requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Read and interpret shipfitting drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Perform structural layout and fitting according to provided drawings.
  • Use various types of structural material to fabricate and assemble components.
  • Measure, mark, position, align, and fit structural components.
  • Prepare structural components for welding and final assembly.
  • Tack structural components into proper position.
  • Verify measurements, alignment, fit-up, and overall accuracy before final welding.
  • Use appropriate shipfitting hand and power tools.
  • Perform work according to required shipyard specifications and quality standards.
  • Work safely in an industrial shipyard environment.
  • Maintain productivity while working extended schedules and overtime as required.
  • Perform additional shipfitting duties as assigned based on project and production requirements.
