Job Description:About the Role:

As Copy Editor for OPIS, a Dow Jones Company, you will ensure that all written content is accurate, clear and consistent before publication. You will be the final line of defense for quality control, balancing technical precision with OPIS's unique voice. You will work closely with a fast-paced team of energy reporters and analysts to polish real-time news alerts, daily price reports and long-form content covering petroleum, petrochemicals, renewable fuels and carbon markets. You will report to the Vice President, Research and Analysis.

You Will:
  • Edit a high volume of daily news stories, market reports and newsletters for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to the Dow Jones Energy style guidelines

  • Review content to ensure quality, substance, and strict adherence to legal and compliance standards

  • Work under intense pressure to clear breaking news alerts and daily reports within tight publication windows

  • Distill complex regulatory changes and market fluctuations into concise, readable content for a sophisticated B2B audience

  • Assist with Content Management System (CMS) entry to ensure proper tagging

  • Format newsletters

You Have:
  • 3+ years' copy editing experience

  • Proficiency in AP Style and experience with content management systems

  • An eagle eye for detail, particularly when dealing with complex numbers and market terminology

  • High ethical standards

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field -OR- equivalent work experience
