NUFML3-Foreman Lineman-Non-Union

 

Transmission Foreperson primary function is to supervise a crew of up to 10 employees and to ensure the proper administration of training, disciplinary action, work production, adherence to safety practices and interpretation of policies. A willingness to travel is a must.

 

Job Type:  Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the job briefing of the crew on work tasks and the hazards associated with the job.
  • Hold outage clearances.
  • Provide daily communication with the client’s representatives.
  • Work on various structure types of transmission lines at voltages from 69kV to 500kV. 
  • Directs the crew members on specific job tasks.
  • Receives and interprets orders by the General Foreperson and Coordinator of utilities.
  • Enforces safety practices and obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of records.
  • Assists with accident reports and incident investigations.
  • Responsible for job cost control.
  • Responsible for inspections, proper working conditions and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
  • Assists with field training to crew members on new equipment.
  • Directs emergency situations.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in all types of Electrical Transmission Line Construction.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Foreperson.
  • Must be able to perform hands on management of many types of maintenance and new construction activities.
  • Must be proficient in all phases of Transmission line work, including the installation and maintenance of wood poles, H-frames, steel poles, lattice towers, and concrete poles.
  • Must be experienced in wire stringing operations, wire sagging methods, assembly and installation of the many different types of hardware assemblies and fiber optic installations.

Education & Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to perform hands-on management of many types of maintenance and new construction activities.
  • Proficient in all phases of Substation Construction including but not limited to Electrical, Mechanical and Civil aspects of construction.
  • Able to comprehend blueprints.
  • Able to visualize the job build.
  • Must be able to identify the hazards on the job.
  • Must have cognition to solve problems
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience as Journeyman in Transmission Construction.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Foreperson.

 

Pre-Screen

  • Upon offer, employees are required to subject and pass both a pre-employment drug screen and background and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • CDL Required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home.
  • Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
