Entry-Level CNC Machining Trainee โ€” Aerospace ComponentsLocation

Chatsworth, CA

Start Here: A Day in Your First Week

Picture your first week at NHBBโ€™s Chatsworth facility. You arrive for 1st Shift training at 6:30 AM, meet your mentor, and step onto a clean, well-organized production floor where precision matters. You learn to set up and operate precision machining equipment, measure parts, read simple instructions, and understand how aerospace components are made to exacting standards. By 3:00 PM, youโ€™ve added new skills and confidenceโ€”knowing youโ€™re on a clear path to become a fully qualified machinist.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Train hands-on to operate precision machining equipment and produce high-quality aerospace components.
  • Follow standardized work, safety practices, and quality checks while you learn.
  • Advance through a structured training program with defined milestones and pay progression.
  • Work closely with experienced machinists who coach you in setup, operation, measurement, and troubleshooting.

  • Mechanical aptitude or interest in manufacturing, mechanics, or hands-on projects
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to work assigned shifts
Training and Shifts

Training: Completed on 1st Shift (6:30 AM โ€“ 3:00 PM).

After training, most openings are on:

  • 2nd Shift: 2:15 PM โ€“ 10:45 PM or 3:30 PM โ€“ 12:00 AM (+$0.75/hour shift differential)
  • 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM โ€“ 6:15 AM or 11:50 PM โ€“ 7:00 AM (15% shift premium)

Applicants should be flexible to work 2nd or 3rd Shift after completing training.

Pay & Benefits
  • Starting wage of $22.00 per hour
  • Structured pay progression with increases of approximately $2โ€“$3 per hour at each advancement level
  • Opportunity to earn approximately $38.00 per hour as a fully qualified Machinist
