Job Description

The Structure Technician drills precision holes, assembles aerospace structural hardware, and performs detailed inspections to ensure components meet strict tolerance and quality requirements. This role works with aluminum structural components, adhesives, fasteners, and sealants to build and maintain high-reliability flight hardware in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Responsibilities

• Drill precision holes on flight hardware using appropriate drill motors, drill sizes, and tooling such as jigs, fixtures, or egg cups to meet specified tolerances.
• Select and set up the correct drill motors and pneumatic drilling equipment based on material, hole size, and precision requirements.
• Assemble structural hardware using structural adhesives, ensuring proper surface preparation, bond line control, and cure practices.
• Install and properly torque fasteners, including hiloks, rivets, and other mechanical fasteners, using torque wrenches and torque tools according to specifications.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience working with structural components in an aerospace or closely related mechanical environment.
• Ability to work with aluminum structural components, including drilling, fastening, and assembly.
• Skilled use of torque wrenches and torque tools to correctly torque fasteners and hiloks according to specifications.
• Experience with structural bonding, including bond prepping and working with structural adhesives.
• Capability to work to precision tolerances, including tolerances in the range of thousandths of an inch (e.g., ±0.001 inch).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace technician roles, including exposure to flight hardware and aerospace structural assemblies.
• Comfort working with sealants, adhesives, and protective coatings as part of structural assembly processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting strict aerospace quality and safety standards.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and specifications in a structured manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
