Job description

Responsible for performing various Human Resources ("HR") related duties primarily focusing on recruiting and onboarding new staff at Prestonwood Baptist Church ("PBC") and its entities.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the recruiting process to include:
    • Utilizing the Human Resources Information System ("HRIS") for applicant tracking
    • Reviewing resumes and screening candidates
    • Making recommendations for further interviews
    • Ensuring timely posting and closure of positions
    • Providing updates to the Human Resources Director
    • Ensuring recruiting and application retention compliance guidelines are followed
  • Oversee the onboarding of new employees to include:
    • Overseeing the complete HR new hire orientation process
    • Ensuring background screening and reference check processes are followed
    • Ensuring onboarding checklist completion
  • Manage training and development as assigned to include:
    • Creating and maintaining training materials
    • Leading training sessions
    • Tracking and ensuring completion of reviews
  • Oversee badges process for staff and volunteers
  • Monitor jobs inbox daily
  • Research and attend external recruiting opportunities
  • Assist with:
    • Supervising Greeter/Receptionists
    • Offboarding employees
    • Updating data in the HRIS
    • Semi-monthly payroll
  • Document HR processes
  • Cross-train to provide backup HR support as needed
  • Assist with HR department related projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a PBC
  • High expectation to uphold confidentiality of HR data
  • College education, preferably in Business Administration or Human Resources
  • Three to five years comparable experience
  • Prior church or non-profit experience a plus
  • HR certification or intent to obtain HR credentials
  • Strong attention to and accuracy in detail
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Comply with all HIPPA privacy laws
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work with a sense of urgency
  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with HRIS systems preferred
  • Ability to work a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional Sundays as needed
  • Able to perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as walking, stooping, lifting, pushing/pulling a cart, use of stairs, and working at a desk with a computer screen for extended periods of time with the ability to perform continuous repetitive hand and finger movements
