Job description

Principal Objective of Position:                                                                                                     

The non-ferrous warehouse worker handles all non-ferrous material with little supervision. They are responsible for inputting data into company’s material receipt system and required to complete physical inventory.

Essential Functions:                                                                                                                        

  • Completes daily safety inspections
  • Receives all non-ferrous material as it comes in
  • Processes and separates all material as it is received
  • Gleans material from the yard
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment that complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations  
  • Identifies and treats non ferrous material accordingly
  • Assists customers when needed
  • Performs general up keep and provides basic security for the facility
  • Completes monthly inventory routine
  • Communicates with the office and ferrous yard on customer movement
  • Completes physical inventory
  • Inputs data into company’s material receipt system

Other Responsibilities:                                                                                                                    

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:                                                                                           

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:                                                                                  

  • Can work independently and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and takes responsibility for own work; can manage interruptions
  • Must perform all duties while meeting safety protocols
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be dependable
  • Must have the ability to answer any questions and solve any complaints from the customer in a professional manner
  • Must have good organization skills
  • The ability to identify items that are ferrous and non-ferrous
  • Displays an understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                                                 

  • Previous experience in Metals Recycling, preferred

Work Environment:                                                                                                                          

This position is located in an outdoor environment.  The ability to work in all weather elements is required.  If operating equipment, the position is in a controlled environment but if equipment needs repairs, exposure to weather elements present.  Overtime and weekend work will be required at times.Â
