Job description

Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America)
The Supervisor will report to the Manager/Director of the department. The Supervisor is responsible for the day to day supervision of the registration staff and will assist with problems, questions or concerns in the ED registration area. She/he will ensure that accurate patient demographic, financial information is obtained. She/he will ensure that all regulatory and payer requirements are met to ensure a compliant registration and billable/payable claim. Compliance with consents and regulatory patient information is given to all patients. The Supervisor will assist with the scheduling of staff. She/he will assist the Patient Access manager in orientation, training, policy development/updates and ensures that all staff are informed of these updates. The Supervisor will work closely with the nurses and physicians in the ED. The Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the QA on the employee's registrations.
Requirements:
-High School diploma required, some college preferred.
-Knowledge of Medical Insurance and healthcare regulations is required.
-Supervisory experience, preferably in Patient Access but must be in a healthcare setting.
-Microsoft Word and Excel experience is required.
-Must be able to communicate with staff, patients, nurses, physicians, management and patient's families in a pleasant, courteous and diplomatic manner. Must demonstrate an ability to perform a variety of tasks subject to frequent changes and be willing to accommodate changes in the work schedule because of staffing issues.
