Job Summary:
Skyways is a fast-growing startup focused on building a new form of air transportation, specifically autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in computer vision and robotics to develop algorithms for autonomous flight and contribute to the company's core technology.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Develop and implement computer vision and robotics algorithms for autonomous flight.
โ€ข Focus on landing zone evaluation and detect-and-avoid systems.
โ€ข Work with sensor data (e.g., IMUs) for non-GPS navigation.
โ€ข Collaborate with flight and mission planning teams.
โ€ข Contribute across the full software development lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 5+ years of experience in developing, testing, and deploying algorithms for perception, navigation, or object interaction in real-world applications.
โ€ข Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
โ€ข A solid understanding of sensor fusion principles and practical experience with diverse sensor types.
โ€ข Prior experience in aerospace, autonomous vehicles, or drone technology.
