Job description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skill
We are seeking a Senior Windchill Developer to join a large-scale, enterprise PLM transformation initiative in the medical technology domain. This role will play a key part in designing, configuring, and extending PTC Windchill capabilities as part of a modern, fit-to-standard NextGen PLM landscape. The position requires strong hands-on Windchill development skills combined with experience working in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead hands-on development, configuration, and extension of PTC Windchill solutions across core PLM capabilities.
• Design and implement Windchill customizations using Java, JSP, REST APIs, and Windchill configuration frameworks while minimizing custom code.
• Collaborate with solution architects, functional leads, and business analysts to translate requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Implementation of core PLM modules including Item, BOM, Document, Change, and UDI-related capabilities.
• Develop and support integrations between Windchill and enterprise systems such as ERP, CAD (MCAD/ECAD), and downstream consuming platforms.
• Ensure solution alignment with regulated product development processes, data integrity, and security controls.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and support performance tuning.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to development standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
Required Technical Skills
PTC Windchill Core
• Strong hands-on experience with PTC Windchill development and configuration.
• Deep understanding of Windchill data model, lifecycle management, workflows, and access control.
• Experience with:
o Item / Part Management and EBOM
o Document Management (including CAD and non-CAD)
o Change Management (Change Notice, Change Request, Problem Report)
o Part taxonomy, attributes, classification, and search
Windchill Modules & Capabilities
• Experience working with one or more of the following:
o Change Management and Configuration Management
o Document Management and eSignature enablement
o Product Structure and BOM Management
o Access Control, IP protection, and data security
o Supplier collaboration and controlled data sharing
o UDI data management and traceability enablement
Development & Integration Skills
• Proficiency in Java, JSP, JavaScript, and Windchill APIs.
• Experience with Windchill REST services and OSLC-based integrations.
• Hands-on experience integrating Windchill with:
o ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle or SAP)
o MCAD tools (Creo preferred; other MCAD/ECAD a plus)
• Experience with source code management and DevOps practices.
Domain & Compliance Experience
• Prior experience in medical technology, life sciences, or other regulated product development environments.
• Understanding of regulated product development concepts such as:
o UDI requirements and product traceability
o Design History File (DHF)
o Audit readiness and data governance
