What is a Node.js job?

A Node.js job typically involves developing and maintaining server-side applications using Node.js, a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 engine. Developers in this role build scalable web applications, APIs, and real-time services. Responsibilities often include writing clean code, debugging applications, optimizing performance, and working with databases. Node.js developers collaborate with front-end teams and may use frameworks like Express.js or NestJS. Strong knowledge of JavaScript, asynchronous programming, and backend architecture is essential for this job.

What does a typical workday look like for a Node.js developer?

A typical day for a Node.js developer involves coding and debugging server-side applications, integrating with databases or third-party APIs, and participating in team meetings such as stand-ups or sprint planning. You’ll often collaborate closely with front-end developers, QA engineers, and product managers to deliver new features or resolve issues. Additionally, responsibilities may include code reviews, deploying updates, and monitoring application performance. This role is fast-paced and collaborative, providing plenty of opportunities to learn and contribute within a dynamic technical team.
