How to get a job as a welder with no experience?

To get a no-experience welder job, focus on obtaining basic welding training through vocational schools or community colleges and earn certifications like the AWS Certified Welder. Gaining hands-on practice with tools such as MIG or TIG welders and demonstrating a willingness to learn can improve your chances with entry-level employers.

What can I expect during the training period as a no experience welder?

As a no experience welder, your initial training period will typically focus on safety protocols, learning to handle welding equipment, and mastering basic welding techniques under close supervision. You may spend time shadowing experienced welders, practicing on sample materials, and gradually taking on simple welding tasks. Most employers provide a structured onboarding process, often pairing you with a mentor to guide your development. This period is crucial for building your confidence, developing good work habits, and ensuring you understand workplace safety standards.

Do welders make $100 an hour?

Most entry-level welders, including those with no experience, typically earn less than $100 an hour. Highly skilled or specialized welders with certifications and experience in certain industries can reach or exceed that rate, but it is uncommon for beginners to earn this much immediately. Wages depend on factors such as location, industry, and skill level.

What welding jobs pay $50 an hour?

Welding jobs that pay $50 an hour typically include specialized roles such as pipe welders, underwater welders, and industrial welders with advanced skills and certifications. Your specific duties and responsibilities depend on the type of work you do. If you work at a construction site, you may help welders prepare rebar and other structural materials. If you work in manufacturing, you assist welders and solderers in assembling different components. No experience welders also assist pipefitters who weld together piping, such as oil and gas pipelines, heating ducts, and plumbing pipes for large industrial projects.
