Posting Number 01120 Position Title Student - Ambassador Department Enrollment Management: Admissions Position Summary
Student Ambassadors serve as the "front door" of Stevenson University, providing a welcoming and informative first impression to a diverse group of prospective mustangs. The Student Ambassadors will represent Stevenson University in the most positive light. They will primarily work all Open Houses, Accepted Students Day, and special Admissions events as assigned. Daily duties include conducting tours at Owings Mills, Owings Mills North, Owings Mills East and Greenspring Campuses for prospective tours to prospective students and families visiting the university. Student Ambassadors will be let known of which campus they need tour the morning of their tour.
Education/Experience
Current Stevenson University student in good academic standing with the University academically and judicially and have at least a 2.50 GPA. Students must be able to talk and speak about the experiences of being a SU Mustang. Student Applicant must be a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
  • Clear, friendly speaking voice and effective public speaking skills are a must and strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, social networking sites (i.e. Facebook), copying, data entry skills and faxing.
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Ability to be a reliable team player with a positive attitude is of the highest importance. Professionalism and enthusiasm for Stevenson University is vital.
  • Accuracy with attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality are a must.
  • Flexibility is a must, able to prioritize duties, and possess enthusiasm for learning new skills while working with changing technology. Must possess a strong SU ethic and be a positive SU spokesperson at all times.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Tours given via one of the many Admissions Department Golf Carts will require the student a government issued Drivers License.
Physical Requirements
Light work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move object. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions. Close visual acuity, for they will be working on computers and doing data entry, etc. The Student Ambassador is subject to activities that occur inside and outside, i.e. office work and giving tours. Student may be subject to extreme heat, rain, snow, and other weather as they will be giving tours throughout the fall, winter and spring months.
Essential Functions
