Sterile Processing Technician / Certified Surgical Technologist

Location: Yuma, CO 80759
Contract: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Weekdays | No OB | No Call at This Time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician / Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgical services and sterile processing operations. This dual-role position is responsible for supporting safe and efficient surgical procedures, maintaining the sterile field, and ensuring proper care, handling, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong operating room scrubbing experience and a thorough understanding of AORN standards and AAMI guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform operating room scrubbing duties and support surgical procedures as assigned.
  • Maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
  • Assist with intraoperative assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Properly handle, clean, decontaminate, sterilize, and prepare complex surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Safely operate and maintain surgical instrumentation and power equipment.
  • Follow AORN Standards and Recommended Practices and AAMI guidelines.
  • Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly processed and available for procedures.
  • Support patient safety and infection prevention standards throughout all assigned duties.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, surgical staff, and sterile processing personnel.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-3 years of recent, active operating room scrubbing experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and safe instrument handling.
  • Working knowledge of AORN standards and recommended practices.
  • Certification: Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required.
  • BLS: Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Language: Bilingual skills are not required.
