What can I expect during my first few weeks as a no experience receptionist?

Expect to shadow experienced colleagues, gradually taking on more tasks like greeting visitors, managing calls, and handling basic administrative duties. You'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback, as most teams are supportive and understand you’re new to the role. Building confidence with multitasking and prioritizing requests is key, and you’ll likely collaborate closely with administrative staff and managers to ensure smooth daily operations.

You may also coordinate maintenance requests, clean common areas, order and track supplies, prepare invoices, and help with new hire induction. Some receptionists have other duties based on the industry, ranging from answer questions about company products to marketing, technical writing, or accounting activities. Flexibility and the ability to learn new skills quickly are essential to your success in this role.
