JOB TITLE: Radiology Receptionist/Scheduler
SUPERVISOR: Radiology Manager
HOURS PER WEEK: 40/Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday)
DEPARTMENT: Radiology
HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days
The following information is designed to outline the essential functions and position requirements of this job. It does not identify all tasks that may be expected, nor address the performance standards that must be maintained.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To greet patients, provide patients with correct paperwork, schedule exams and process all appropriate paperwork for the Radiology Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
1. Receive and check in patients. Ask patients to fill out necessary paperwork, review and sign as needed.*
2. Answer multiple telephone line and handle inquiries and messages appropriately.*
3. Process appropriate paperwork for all radiology exams and notify technologists when patients are ready for their exam.*
4. Schedule radiology exams for the patient in person or over the phone with explanation of appropriate preparation information.*
5. Sort and organize various paperwork and records.
6. Check referral status of CT and MRI Patients and notify referral coordinators of missing authorizations, as appropriate.*
7. Maintain adequate level of supplies.
8. Confirm upcoming appointments by phone and document in EHR.*
9. Assist Radiologists and Technologists with Clerical duties such as retrieval of outside images and paperwork, and internal prior exams as needed.*
10. Audit Radiology Orders for accuracy and call to schedule patients with outstanding orders.*
11. Audit all outstanding Radiology orders and notify ordering physicians of expiration of orders or patient non-compliance.*
12. Maintain clean and organized work area.
13. Check voice mail and return calls as needed.
14. Assist technologists with patient lifting and other duties as needed.
15. Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home.
16. Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business.*
17. Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, customers and vendors.*
18. Abide by company policies.*
19. Other duties as assigned.
20. Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.*

• Computer software programs including PACS, Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Microsoft windows.

REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
PREFERENCES:
• Previous clerical experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Understanding of Radiology terminology, procedures, and patient flow
