Job description

We are looking for a Lab Technician - AP Lab to join our Portland, OR, location. Established in 1975, Immunology Consultants Laboratory, Inc. (ICL) is a local, family-owned lab that has grown from R&D to IVD. In this role, you will be responsible for performing duties in the purification and testing of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies.

A Day in the Lab:

  • Run immunoaffinity columns to purify antibodies using immobilized antigens (Protein A, Protein G).
  • Perform QC tests to characterize purified antibodies using SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA, and Immunoelectrophoresis.
  • Prepare buffers and reagents used for antibody purification and conjugation.
  • Conjugate antibodies to HRP, Biotin, and FITC.
  • Maintain production process documentation and participate in cleaning and preventative maintenance of lab equipment.

What It Takes:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in biology, chemistry, biotechnology, medical technology, or a related scientific field.
  • Candidates with a laboratory certification and experience may be considered for the role in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • An equivalent combination of education and training/experience will also be considered.
  • Mathematical skills to comprehend and apply principles of arithmetic, algebra, and basic statistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
