Job description

The Operations Specialist is responsible for daily business and administrative operations at RMCC Development.
Core Duties

  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage full-cycle daily AP operations by entering bills into RMCC's ERP system, ensuring checks and electronic payments are prepared before invoice due dates, communicating with vendors, and overseeing cash application and AR processes.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliations: Prepare and post standard journal entries, and perform regular balance sheet and bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Financial Administration: Support day-to-day accounting workflows to ensure clean record-keeping and seamless reporting.
  • Operations & Communications: Monitor company inboxes for critical communications from vendors, customers, regulators, and community members, and answer incoming phone calls on the main office line.
  • Procurement: Manage the purchasing of general supplies and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
  • Property Coordination: Work closely with Property Manager(s) to ensure smooth operations at commercial sites and adequate support for tenants.
  • General Operations: Ensure that external communications are consistently accurate and up-to-date, while continuing to support all other routine administrative duties outlined in the standard operations description.


  • Required: Possess, or the ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. driving license.
  • Strongly Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Prior professional experience in core accounting functions, specifically including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, account reconciliations, and cash application.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently: Sit, perform desk-based computer tasks; use fine manipulation and grasp; use a telephone; write by hand; sort and file paperwork.
  • Frequently: Stand and walk; twist; lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally: Ability to attend events and activities around the Portland metropolitan area.

Working Conditions & Standards

  • Working Conditions: Primarily office-based work; requires occasional visits to active construction sites and commercial spaces. Closed-toe shoes are required. PPE (hard hats, high-visibility clothing, etc.) will be provided if ever required.
  • Work Standards: All employees of RMCC Development are expected to maintain professionalism while working, especially when interacting with customers, vendors, or members of the community. Employees are expected to comply with all local and federal laws, ordinances, and procedures, including driving laws.
