Job description

Kurt J. Lesker Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of large-scale electronic equipment and machinery used in vacuum systems. This role applies core electrical engineering principles to deliver safe, reliable, and manufacturable designs using computer-aided engineering tools and design software. This role demonstrates strong proficiency in electrical design concepts, practices, and procedures, and works to plan and execute project tasks within a low volume, high variability manufacturing environment.

  • Division: Process Equipment Division
  • Reports To: Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and detail electrical components and systems for safe, reliable equipment operation
  • Design electrical power distribution systems for vacuum and process equipment
  • Design and document equipment control systems
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in the corporate ERP system
  • Perform prototype assembly, wiring, testing, and validation of components and sub-modules
  • Execute cost-effective engineering improvements to reduce the cost of existing components
  • Support engineering projects to meet schedule, cost, quality, and performance targets
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical design experience
  • Strong CAD experience (electrical drawings and schematics)
  • Proficiency with industry compliance codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, UL, and CE
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other 2D drafting software
  • Design experience supporting automated or industrial equipment
