Job description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

To deliver efficient, high-quality beverage service at banquet and event functions by preparing and serving drinks in accordance with established standards, while providing attentive, professional guest service. The Banquet Bartender ensures accuracy in cash handling and inventory control, maintains a clean and organized bar setup, and supports the overall success of events through strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety and responsible alcohol service guidelines.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes, portion controls, and service standards
  • Set up and break down banquet bar(s), including stocking inventory, glassware, garnishes, and supplies
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to guests, always maintaining a high level of hospitality
  • Verify guest age and ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws and responsible beverage service practices
  • Accurately handle cash, credit transactions, and maintain proper cash bank procedures when applicable
  • Monitor and control bar inventory; restock as needed and report shortages or discrepancies
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area before, during, and after events in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with banquet captains, servers, and management to ensure smooth event execution
  • Adapt to varying event sizes, timelines, and guest needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Assist with special requests, custom drink preparation, and event-specific beverage requirements
  • Support overall banquet operations as needed, including assisting team members to ensure successful event service
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of bartending experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to get from one location to another for extended periods (up to 6โ€“8+ hours per shift)
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 25โ€“50 lbs (e.g., kegs, cases of liquor, glass racks)
  • Must pour, shake, stir, and handle bar tools and glassware
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, stoop, and kneel to access supplies and set up/break down bar areas
  • Manual dexterity to operate bar equipment and handle small items efficiently and safely
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequent repetitive motions
  • Clear vision and hearing to monitor guest needs, read orders, and maintain situational awareness
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, including crowded spaces, loud environments, and different indoor/outdoor temperatures
  • Stamina to maintain energy, professionalism, and service standards throughout the duration of events
