POSITION OVERVIEW

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as a PLU PCD Worker. This position will conduct background checks and review printouts. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department's call operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Serves as Placement Clearance Desk Worker.
  • Processes background checks requested from the SACWIS LEADS Request Log by conducting criminal background checks and reviewing printouts.
  • Regularly checks the Placement Clearance Desk (PCD) e-mailbox and fax for waivers and holds.
  • Responds to calls from various department and purchase of service staff requesting information on placement clearances, holds, background checks, and Recipient Identification Number (RIN's)/temporary medical cards.
  • Maintains LEADS Log of all inquiries made to the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and maintains LEADS certification.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school
  • Requires 2 years of office experience
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to secure and maintain Illinois State Police LEADS certification. 
  • Requires ability to work mandatory overtime.
