Job Brief
We are seeking a Joint Use Coordinator to provide administrative support for Engineering and Operations.
Provide administrative support for Engineering and Operations as a joint-use program coordinator. The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To ensure joint-use program complies with applicable codes, policies, and procedures. Create and maintain joint-use program records, including inspections, permitting, billings, code compliance verification, and joint-pole attachment agreements. Maintain and develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers to foster positive joint-use cooperation and collaboration.
  • Maintain databases and client interface modules by efficiently and quickly analyze, process, manipulate, and accurately record extensive amounts of data, some of which is technical in nature, and other information that serves as the basis for this position.
  • Review pole attachment requests with Engineering team for approval and facilitate steps forward for plan execution. Communicate, coordinate, and follow up with Engineering and Operations personnel to identify need for joint-use notifications.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to inquiries with timely and accurate information.
  • Communicate in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner with other employees and customers. Contribute to a successful and productive work group through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, and the constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the organization's strategic goals.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to meet team, department, and organizational goals. Actively demonstrate accountability and responsibility for achieving desired outcomes and measurable results.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Safety Code, PUD design and construction standards, PUD General Terms and Conditions, and the Administrative Rules applicable to joint-use facilities.
  • Familiarity with the third-party make ready requests and the Joint-Pole Application (JPA) process is required.
  • Knowledge of National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) and Joint Facility Notification (JFN) process is desired.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is required; knowledge of AutoCAD software applications is a plus.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong problem solving, research, organizational, and analytical skills, combined with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines. The ability to multitask is also essential while remaining flexible with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Well-reasoned decision making with a high attention to detail regarding organization, planning, workflow, and project prioritization to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Highly ethical, self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and/or with limited direction, as well as cooperatively in a team environment, while consistently demonstrating collaborative, respectful, and productive work habits.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when involved in highly confidential and sensitive matters.

Education/Experience:
  • Requires High school diploma or equivalent. A combination of education and applicable work experience may be acceptable.
  • AA degree in any area of Engineering is a plus.
  • Two years combined experience in Engineering or utility environment.
  • Requires passing a Background Check post offer.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work for extended periods of time in a stationary position while consistently grasping, moving, and manipulating documents, office supplies, and other business materials.
  • Use of a computer or other technology devices frequently and consistently for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data, and other business-related information.
