Job Details

Summary of Position:

The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing service throughout the building and managing Front of House staff at Nitehawk Cinema. The Floor Manager will communicate with all departments as necessary to achieve service goals, while cultivating relationships with guests and staff to ensure an organized-high level of service for all guests coming into Nitehawk. Work alongside other management teams to further develop Nitehawk Cinema as the premier dinner and movie destination in NYC.

General Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach FOH staff to consistently deliver great service and an exemplary guest experience.
  • Review event memos on a weekly basis to prepare FOH staff of pertinent information for upcoming events.
  • Anticipate and handle guest needs by checking in on theaters and staff working throughout the shift.
  • Responsible for closing shifts, which includes tip pool entries, deposits, change, and reports.
  • Work with Chefs, and kitchen staff on communication needed for smoother service.
  • Communicate to FOH staff all theater changes, schedule updates, and menu updates as needed.
  • Communicate FOH issues and updates with the management team.
  • Check Nitehawk’s Info mail during the shift and respond to general questions in a timely manner.
  • Work with all managers to maintain a clean, safe, and DOH compliant facility.
  • Ensure a welcoming environment for guests and provide friendly, responsive, efficient, and courteous service at all times. Enforce Nitehawk’s guest policies and handle disruptive guests as needed.
  • Help facilitate menu change for upcoming new specials and seasonal menu change.

General employment requirements:

  • Provide movie, food, and beverage product information to employees and guests, and answer any questions with courtesy and respect.
  • Adhere to all cash handling, cash management, and cash register policies set forth by Nitehawk Cinema operational policies procedures and ensure proper cash management practices are followed.
  • Operate Nitehawk Cinema on a daily basis with efficiency, respect, friendliness, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion and courtesy.
  • This position does not have access to personnel files. All issues or concerns must be reported to the GM.
  • Food Safety Certification required (if not held at hiring, must schedule an exam within 30 days).
  • Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and operations related to both restaurant and cinema space.
  • Must maintain good hygiene, good posture, and must display the image set forth by Nitehawk Cinema.

Internal Nitehawk Job Qualifications, in addition to the above position outlined:

  • Consistent level of performance and accuracy in your current position and must be in good standing.
  • For management: Preference will be given to those who have held Lead positions.
  • Knowledgeable of and adheres to Nitehawk policies and handbook. Arrives to work on time and ready to work in appropriate attire.
  • Adhere to the work schedule posted. Know and practice proper protocol when clocking in and out for working hours, when switching or picking up shifts, as well as how to request time off.
  • Provides consistent, excellent customer service.
  • Communicates well with staff, remains positive, professional and respectful throughout the shift when talking to guests and co-workers, seeking solutions in difficult situations.
  • Shows initiative and performs additional responsibilities related to service and guest needs as requested from a supervisor. Open to direction and feedback consistently. Has shown to be helpful to co-workers and works in a professional manner.
  • Abide by all Department of Health guidelines and regulations. Keep all clean work stations stocked and maintained throughout service.
  • Properly maintains all Nitehawk equipment and reports damages to supervisor.

  • Position: Floor Manager - Williamsburg
  • Compensation: $22- $25 hourly
  • Status: Non - Exempt / Full-time
  • Position reports directly to the General Manager

Compensation: Hourly ($22.00 - $25.00)
