Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Sales Representative FLSA CLASS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Manager, Sales REVISION DATE: May 1, 2025

SCOPE: This position will prospect and generate new commercial business as well as perform cold calls in the field to generate new permanent sales. This candidate should be able to support existing clients and have an ability to conduct product demonstrations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as liaison between assigned customers and internal departments.
  • Maintain and expand existing relationships.
  • Prospect, qualify, initiate, and establish new relationships.
  • Coordinate every phase of product life cycle from RFQQ to PPAP to SOP to engineering changes, and to managing final build-out and service parts arrangements that are associated with model change events at customers.
  • Mid to long term forecasting and sales budgeting.
  • Prepare quotes and negotiate prices and other business terms.
  • Smooth over conflicts between other departments and their counterparts at customers when deadlocked.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable when necessary.
  • Work special assignments for management when requested.
  • Must be willing to travel and be on the road at least 1-2 nights per week.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
  • Prefer at least 3 years automotive OEM account managing experience.
  • Working experience in steel or metal industry preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications; especially Excel.
