ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager, Product Development is responsible for leading the strategic research and end-to-end development of the Activewear (Nova) category. You will drive the evolution of both Men's and Women's activewear, ensuring every garment balances high-performance functionality with trend-forward aesthetics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage all new development and counter development of styles in their category
  • Manage and monitor the execution of the business strategy and plans for the activewear (Nova) business ensuring quality products are consistently developed and delivered
  • Build, manage, and maintain Development Time and Action Calendars for all developed activewear products across each factory and country
  • Analyze all price quotes and work with production team to ensure target costs are achieved and understand fabric, trim and yarn costs and how they impact final garment costs
  • Monitor daily status of developed products including fabrics, lab dips, samples, trim, wash, and technical design. Must fully understand garment-manufacturing process to ensure compliance to all lead times
  • Approve all fabrics & yarns for appearance, quality, weight, and hand-feel, using standard guidelines and technical knowledge
  • Approve proto samples for style details, trim, wash, artwork, and construction
  • Manage workflow from counter samples/initial sketch through final placement of styles
  • Manage pre-production approval process of all fits, strikes offs, patterns trims, and technically correct lab dips
  • Establish and manage tracking tools for all products in development through final production
  • Keep up on daily communication with overseas offices and factories
  • Build, train and manage product development team based on business growth by department
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in buying and marketing to communicate and educate product knowledge, ensure successful line launches and receive feedback for continued improvements
  • Travel to factories, comp shopping, trade shows as necessary to execute and follow through on brand strategies
  • Analyze business results and competitor trends and adjust future product assortments as necessary to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory turns, while maintaining brand integrity standards
  • Develop and manage the product calendar for seasonal deliveries and special events
  • Organize and prioritize weekly workload for self and team

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 8+ years of Product Development experience, with a proven track record in technical activewear or performance apparel
    • Expertise in both Men's and Women's categories is strongly preferred, specifically regarding functional fabrics and specialized construction.
  • Basic understanding of Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Must have excellent time-management and organization skills, consistently achieving deadlines
  • Strong follow-up and negotiation skills
  • Team player and open to dialogue
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in person and via email
  • Attention to detail
  • High ability to work both independently and collaboratively, efficiently, and quickly with superior quality
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and pivot projects in a dynamic environment
  • Flexible thinker with the ability to make sound independent decisions
  • AFA or AA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • English, additional language(s) an advantage
  • Schedule of this position: Monday - Friday | Core business hours | Onsite in Beverly Hills, CA
