Job description

The Transportation Supervisor DOT will directly manage the daily delivery process in accordance with company policies and procedure to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of products to Ben E. Keith customers. Note - This position requires a valid Class A CDL. Applicants will not be considered without this requirement.
The Night Transportation Supervisor DOT will report to the Transportation Manager. Duties for this position include:
  • Collaborate with peer supervisors to manage daily routes and activities of transportation personnel
  • Manage all shuttle drivers and schedules for each shuttle site including vacation requests and call-ins.
  • Enforce transportation policies and procedures to maintain equipment performance and ensure compliance of BEK safety and transportation guidelines
  • Manage delivery operations to ensure complete customer satisfaction with internal and external customers
  • Perform nightly audits of dark drop delivery procedures to ensure safe delivery and cold chain policies.
  • Perform daily administrative tasks to ensure the timely reporting of work activities, personnel time, expenditures and verify the efficient shipping and delivery of products
  • Perform customer deliveries and shuttle runs if needed to ensure timely delivery of products to customers
  • Train new employees and guide current employees on routes, product delivery, completion of paperwork, and compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Perform employee evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Perform timely investigation and reporting of all accidents, injuries and incidents to appropriate personnel
  • Represent Ben E. Keith Company with professionalism, a positive attitude and professional dress code

Job Qualifications:
  • Commitment to Ben E. Keith company principles and standards
  • Knowledge of customer service principles; including needs assessment and meeting quality standards for services
  • Ability to understand and enforce regulatory guidelines and to prioritize multiple projects, assignments and tasks
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint to write reports, correspondence and communications and effectively present information to employees in a written or verbal format
  • Manage employee turn-over by maintaining or improving employee morale, and identifying and correcting obstacles
  • Ability to travel overnight when needed
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience; including at least one year of management experience is required
  • Knowledge of DOT guidelines and related regulatory guidelines required
  • Valid New Mexico Class A CDL with Doubles endorsement required. Doubles endorsement must be obtained before starting the position
  • No more than one moving violation in the past 3 years
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
  • High school diploma or GED

NOTE: This is a NIGHT position. Typical schedule will be Sunday - Thursday from 6pm - 4am. Saturday rotation every 4 - 5 weeks.
Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers are required to sign a consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.
