Job Summary:**
Sealy Mattress Manufacturing is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operator to join our production team. This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality mattress components, ensuring precision and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble various mattress components according to specifications.
* Accurately interpret and follow verbal and written instructions for sewing patterns, materials, and production quotas.
* Perform quality checks on sewn products to ensure they meet Sealy's high standards and identify any defects.
* Load and unload materials onto and from sewing machines, which may involve heavy lifting.
* Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain production flow and meet daily targets.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
* Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
* Assist with other production tasks as needed.
Job Qualifications:
* Proven ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
* Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job (e.g., moving rolls of fabric, mattress components).
* Strong commitment to team collaboration and working effectively with colleagues.
* Demonstrated ability to work cohesively within a team environment to achieve common goals.
* Excellent visual acuity to detect imperfections and ensure precise stitching and quality.
* Ability to work in a standing position for a minimum of 8 hours or more per shift.
* Frequent walking, squatting, turning, twisting, pushing, bending, etc. in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment.
* Excellent attendance-must be reliable and punctual.
* Must be willing to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
