Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift - 3 shifts per week.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to the patient's diagnosis, collaborating with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and ensure patient safety.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing staff, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital guidelines on personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment through team building and supportive interactions with staff, patients, and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for specific locations only).
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
