Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Tele (Night Shift)
Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract (July Start)
Job Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele unit (5400/5500) in an acute care hospital setting. This role focuses on cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and comprehensive inpatient care during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg Tele inpatient unit
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (dysrhythmias)
  • Respond to rapid response and code situations
  • Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy (required competency)
  • Manage peripheral IV lines and support vascular access care
  • Administer oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support
  • Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
  • Provide safe and timely patient care (ratios 1:5-1:7)
  • Document all care in EPIC system
  • Float to similar units as needed
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
Required Qualifications
  • Active New York State RN License (non-compact state)
  • Minimum acute care experience within last 6 months required
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong experience in Med/Surg Tele nursing
  • Cardiac monitoring & dysrhythmia interpretation required
  • IV insertion and phlebotomy competency required
  • Experience with rapid response/code situations
