Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg for a 13-week travel contract in Sweetwater, Texas. This role combines direct patient care with Charge Nurse responsibilities, supporting a diverse adult patient population in a rural hospital setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical, telemetry, post-surgical, orthopedic, gynecological, and occasional pediatric patients.
Serve as Charge Nurse by coordinating daily unit operations, supporting staff, and ensuring efficient patient care delivery.
Perform patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and monitor patient responses throughout hospitalization.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation using CPSI/Evident EMR while following facility policies and patient safety standards.
RequirementsActive Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required.
Previous Charge Nurse experience required.
Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication, and patient care coordination skills.
