Registered Nurse  – Med/Surg

Location: Sweetwater, Texas

Pay Rate: $1,400 To $1,512/Week

Contract: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Med/Surg RN Experience & Charge Nurse Experience Required

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg for a 13-week travel contract in Sweetwater, Texas. This role combines direct patient care with Charge Nurse responsibilities, supporting a diverse adult patient population in a rural hospital setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical, telemetry, post-surgical, orthopedic, gynecological, and occasional pediatric patients.

  • Serve as Charge Nurse by coordinating daily unit operations, supporting staff, and ensuring efficient patient care delivery.

  • Perform patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and monitor patient responses throughout hospitalization.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using CPSI/Evident EMR while following facility policies and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License required.

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required.

  • Previous Charge Nurse experience required.

  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication, and patient care coordination skills.
