Position Responsibilities:

  • The registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who facilitates and coordinates patient care delivery of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with physician orders.
  • Utilizing the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnosis based on patient condition, develops/implements a focused plan of care, and evaluates the patient response.
  • The RN communicates patient data to the health care team, makes recommendations for patient interventions, delegates nursing care to others as appropriate, collaborates with other health care providers to deliver exceptional patient care, and documents outcomes in the patient’s medical record.
  • Responsible for creating a plan of care that is sensitive to diversity, age appropriate, and individualized to the patient’s needs to facilitate wellness and healing.
  • Delegates interventions to health care personnel guided by the Texas Nursing Practice Act andregulatory requirements, considering each patient’s condition and the competencies of the employee to minimize patient risk while maximizing safety.
  • Utilizes clinical judgment, clinical inquiry, advocacy, caring practices, collaboration, and system thinking in the delivery ofnursing care.
  • Educates patients, families, staff, and the community as a cornerstone of professionalpractice.
