As a Night Shift Remote Implementation Manager, you'll often coordinate projects across different time zones, which can be both challenging and rewarding. Managing a remote team during overnight hours requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently, as support resources may be limited. However, this role often provides more autonomy and can offer opportunities to develop specialized expertise in global project rollouts. Additionally, working overnight shifts can lead to better work-life balance for some, and there are often premium pay incentives for night shift roles.

What does a Night Shift Remote Implementation Manager do?

A Night Shift Remote Implementation Manager oversees and coordinates the deployment of projects, systems, or software solutions during overnight hours, typically from a remote location. Their responsibilities include managing project timelines, ensuring smooth communication between teams, and addressing any issues that arise outside of regular business hours. By working during the night, they help ensure that implementations cause minimal disruption to daily operations and provide support to clients or teams across different time zones.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Night Shift Remote Implementation Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Night Shift Remote Implementation Manager, you need strong project management skills, technical acumen relevant to the company’s products, and experience in remote team coordination, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business, IT, or a related field. Familiarity with project management tools (such as Asana, Jira, or Trello), remote collaboration platforms (like Slack or Zoom), and possibly certifications like PMP are common requirements. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently during off-hours are standout soft skills. These competencies ensure smooth project rollouts, effective remote collaboration, and consistent support during night shifts, which are critical for global operations.

Job description

About Us:

Outpost is building the backbone of freight. We’re reinventing how supply chain infrastructure works in America with carrier agnostic truck terminals. As a vertically integrated real estate, operations, and technology company, we acquire and operate mission-critical real estate across the country to serve the largest logistics providers in the world. Backed by $1B from Greenpoint Partners, we’re scaling and building the most valuable logistics network in the country.

We thrive on accountability, integrity, and a shared drive to raise the bar. If you’re excited to reshape the industry alongside a high-performance team with a championship mindset that executes relentlessly, welcome aboard.

About the Role:

Outpost is deploying gate-guard technology and standing up a national truck yard footprint in parallel. The implementation function is what gets every site — ours and our customers' — from signed contract or ground-break to running smoothly. You're joining a function that's already in motion: real hardware in the field, live client commitments, and a skilled team of field technicians and engineers in execution. What we're adding is a Manager who owns the playbook and scales the function for what comes next.

We're seeking an Implementation Manager to own site deployments end-to-end. You'll bring deep expertise in install project management (scheduling and coordinating the installer and technician workforce) and install quality control (identifying the wrong conduit, the unsecured cable run, or the mount that won't hold before the customer does). In your first 90 days you'll deliver against in-flight commitments, take stock of open work, and refine the operating model. From there, you'll hire, scale the playbook, and build implementation into a function customers see as a differentiator. This role is based in Seattle (Fremont) and reporting to the VP of Solutions Engineering.

What You'll Own:

Install execution & quality (your zone of mastery)

  • Own physical install PM for every site: schedule the installer/technician workforce, sequence trades, and hold subcontractors to spec.

  • Run install QC end-to-end — catch the wrong conduit, the unsecured cable run, or the bad mount before the customer ever does.

Site deployment, contract to go-live

  • Own the deployment plan for every site: civil requirements, hardware locations, network readiness, and go-live milestones.

  • Drive scheduling, hardware logistics, vendor coordination, and client-facing project communications on time, every time.

Procurement, field tech & IT (managed, not executed)

  • Manage procurement and inventory, field-tech operations, and the network/IT side of every deployment.

  • Set the standards, partner with internal operators, and step in before issues become customer problems.

Software, integration & customer success (through the Integrations PM)

  • Hire and lead the Systems Integration PM who owns software, process integration, customer training, change management, and post-go-live success.

  • Stay close to the customer relationship and back them up when it matters.

Playbook & team

  • Build commissioning checklists, install handoff documents, site-specific runbooks, and SOW templates.

  • Document site specs, hardware configurations, and network details for every deployment.

  • Hire the gaps and build the bench that lets Outpost deploy at 10x our current pace without breaking.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years leading physical technology deployments, site implementations, or field infrastructure rollouts (AV/low-voltage, access control, surveillance/VMS, networking, edge compute, or similar).

  • Hands-on expertise in install project management and install quality control on commercial-grade builds, with direct ownership of customer outcomes.

  • Track record managing concurrent multi-site deployments with live customer commitments — you ran the schedule, not a vendor.

  • Experience coordinating field technicians, IT/network engineers, third-party vendors, and client stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Working knowledge of network architecture sufficient to partner with IT/sysadmin teams.

  • Willingness to travel ~30% on average to client and Outpost sites across the U.S.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years in a senior implementation, deployment, or product delivery leadership role.

  • Working proficiency with project management platforms (Smartsheet, ClickUp, or equivalent) and ability to read and push back on AutoCAD site drawings.

  • Experience operating in early-stage or high-growth environments where the playbook is built as you go.

  • Industry experience in logistics yards, trucking/fleet, parking and mobility, access control, or comparable infrastructure environments.

  • Prior remote-work experience and the discipline to run a function across time zones.

  • Deep expertise in systems integration and software-process delivery in addition to physical install.

  • Hands-on experience with network testing (Fluke certification of cable runs, megger testing) and the ability to spot bad work without sending it out for review.

  • Working understanding of point-to-point network hardware (Ubiquiti or equivalent).

  • Background in access control, surveillance/VMS, networking, AV, edge compute, industrial automation, IoT, and/or gate automation equipment.

  • Experience managing deployments through a W2 field technician workforce and/or third-party install network.

  • PMP or comparable formal PM certification.

  • Experience with Hanwha, Wisenet Wave/Network Optix, and/or ClickUp.

  • Track record of building operational teams that execute, hiring specialists better than you in their lane, and experimenting with AI to do more with less.

What success looks like in 12 months:

  • In-flight site deployments delivered on or ahead of committed timelines.

  • Install QC defect rate trending down quarter over quarter, with clear visibility into root causes.

  • Systems Integration PM hired, onboarded, and operating with defined KPIs.

  • Implementation playbook documented and validated across multiple site types (Outpost yards and customer sites).

  • Team scaled to support next-year deployment volume without quality regressions or schedule slippage.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching

  • 20 paid holidays

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Hybrid in-office and remote culture with flexible hours

  • Friday team lunches in the Seattle office

  • A seat at the table on a function you’ll own end-to-end

  • Base salary range: $125,000 – $175,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include additional components; a complete compensation and benefits summary will be provided during the interview process.
