Job description

Gas Fired Products is seeking a Powder Coating Technician who will be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing parts using powder coating techniques.This involves surface preparation, equipment setup and maintenance, coating application, quality control, and maintaining a clean work environment.They work with various materials, including aluminum and steel, ensuring products meet both indoor and outdoor specifications.

  • Prepare surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed.
  • Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and booths.
  • Select powder according to the company's color scheme and specifications, prepare and load powder.
  • Apply powder coatings evenly and accurately to achieve the desired finish.
  • Monitor the coating process to ensure proper adhesion and coverage while adjusting sprayer valves and nozzle as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
  • Follows safety protocols and maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Experience with powder coating systems and equipment is required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move parts. Some parts are up to 30 pounds
  • Good eyesight and the ability to discern color variations.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in powder coating application is a plus
