They allow nurses to utilize their expertise outside direct patient care settings.

What is a typical night shift for a nurse?

A night shift for a nurse typically runs from late evening to early morning, often around 7 or 8 PM to 7 or 8 AM. During this shift, nurses monitor patients, administer medications, and respond to emergencies, often working with fewer staff than daytime shifts. Nurses must be prepared for increased patient needs and maintain alertness during overnight hours.
