Job description

Position Summary

The RON Shift Ramp Agent is responsible for performing all required ground-handling duties on aircraft that remain overnight at the station. This role ensures aircraft are secured, cleaned, serviced, and prepared for next‑day operations. RON Ramp Agents work with minimal supervision during overnight hours and must follow all safety, security, and FAA/TSA regulations.


Key ResponsibilitiesAircraft Servicing & Preparation
  • Perform RON aircraft checks including: wheel chocks, cones, and proper securing of the aircraft.
  • Service lavatory and potable water systems as required.
  • Assist with aircraft cleaning tasks to ensure cabin readiness for first‑out departures.
  • Check and replenish galley supplies as assigned.
  • Ensure aircraft doors, latches, and access panels are properly secured before leaving the gate.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company, airport, FAA, and TSA regulations at all times.
  • Conduct operations in compliance with ramp safety rules, including proper use of PPE.
  • Report any damage, irregularities, or safety concerns immediately to leadership.
  • Maintain hazard‑free work areas around aircraft and ramp equipment.
Ramp Operations
  • Position cones, chocks, safety equipment, and GSE according to company standards.
  • Marshall equipment safely during repositioning of belt loaders, tugs, GPUs, and bag carts.
  • Assist with inbound/outbound baggage as needed for late‑night or early‑morning flights.
  • Support de‑icing operations (if applicable at the station).
  • Complete required operational forms, logs, and RON checklists accurately.
Overnight Security Duties
  • Ensure aircraft remain secure according to TSA and airport RON security requirements.
  • Escort vendors or maintenance personnel when required.
  • Perform cabin or exterior security sweeps if assigned.
Teamwork & Communication
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors, maintenance, cleaners, and airport security.
  • Provide clear shift‑change updates to early‑morning staff.
  • Work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and reliability.

RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Able to pass a 10‑year background check and obtain airport-issued badges.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
  • Ability to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.
