Job description

Join CLFC delivering critical after-hours medical coverage at Rio Grande State Center, an inpatient psychiatric facility serving an underserved South Texas population. This is a night-only, 1099 opportunity for an experienced Texas-licensed Physician Assistant to earn strong supplemental income while keeping your daytime position.

Schedule: Overnight, 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM, flexible nights with primary and relief rotations. Coverage is primarily on-call availability; actual encounters vary by facility need.

What you will do:

  • Overnight on-call coverage for a state inpatient psychiatric facility
  • Post-restraint face-to-face evaluations per facility protocol
  • History and physical (H&P) admitting evaluations
  • Identify acute medical causes of behavioral change; coordinate with on-call psychiatry

What you need:

  • Active, unrestricted Texas PA license (PA-C); copy required
  • Current NCCPA certification; ARC-PA accredited program
  • Active DEA registration or eligibility (CLFC coordinates your Texas supervising physician)
  • Current BLS; able to respond on-site within the facility-required time
  • Malpractice $1M/$3M prior to start (CLFC assists coordination); clean NPDB history

Preferred: inpatient or psychiatric PA experience; emergency, hospital, correctional, or urgent-care background; CAQ-Psychiatry; ACLS; CPI/MOAB; within ~45 minutes of Harlingen; bilingual English and Spanish.
