JOB TITLE: Night Cleaner, Housekeeping

DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping

REPORTS TO: Director of Housekeeping

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Previous experience as a Night Cleaner (6-12 months previous experience working overnight)

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. The ability to perform all tasks for the position of Night Cleaner; able to use the correct chemicals and operate any machinery/cleaning equipment in a safe manner according to proper procedures.
  2. The ability to follow proper procedures in handling all chemicals.
  3. The ability to carry out all cleaning procedures according to Supervisor’s directions.
  4. The ability to work independently in order to perform the cleanliness standards of the public and back of the house areas, as assigned.
  5. The ability to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness in all assigned areas through the use of cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment including but not limited to floor polishing machines, mops, shampoo machines.
  6. The ability to inventory cleaning supplies, reporting inventory needs to Supervisor.
  7. The ability to maintain, use, and store equipment in a safe and proper manner.
  8. The ability to carry out assignments as directed, and to participate in inspections of work.
  9. The ability to participate in staff meetings.
  10. The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  11. The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

1) Lobby/Heart of the House / Health Club / Restaurant /Lounge and Bar

Position: * Ability to move in and out of all positions to work overhead and below waist, typically forward bend, squatting, half-kneeling, hands-knees, kneeling, overhead, forward, and lateral reaching.

* Gross grasp

* Stair climbing, ladder climbing

* Lift/carry vacuum/ladder


Force: * Couches: 50 lbs. (approximate)

* Tables: 20-30 lbs.

* Ladders: 25-30 lbs.

* Vacuum: 30 lbs.


Repetitions: * Move couches: 9 x per night

* Move tables: 15 x per night

* Lift vacuum: Up steps one at a time repetitively

* Lift/carry ladder: Repetitively

* Floor care equipment required push/pull/bend/turn right to left

Sensory: * Sight and balance necessary for safety on ladder.
