Night Cleaners are custodial professionals who work outside of regular business hours, typically overnight, to clean and maintain commercial, industrial, or public spaces. Their duties often include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, sanitizing restrooms, and restocking supplies. Working at night allows them to perform thorough cleaning without interrupting daytime operations, ensuring that premises are clean and ready for use the next day.

What do night cleaners do?

The responsibilities of a night cleaner include various upkeep, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks to ensure the cleanliness of a facility and smooth daily operations. In this career, you work overnight, cleaning various areas of a building or office after-hours. Your duties may include dusting, vacuuming, furniture rearrangement, cleaning up spills, taking out the trash, and occasional performing deep cleaning tasks like waxing or carpet shampooing. After your shift, you report any issues to your supervisor that may require outside help or a maintenance employee with more advanced skills.

Using checklists and adhering to safety protocols can help night cleaners stay organized and effective while minimizing risks associated with working alone or with hazardous cleaning materials.
