Pay Details:
The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
The Media & Communications Game Night Staff supports our NHL public relations department. The position will serve in many capacities throughout the hockey season, assisting the department with game-night operations, including preparing and disseminating media documents and information and coordinating press box operations.
Responsibilities
  • Staff Media Entrance and distribute credentials
  • Cover Press Room and Press Box check-in and hospitality
  • Setup, execution, and collection of postgame audio/video of postgame media availabilities
  • Assist with audio/video editing of postgame media availabilities for distribution to media
  • Assist with VIP and team guest hospitality
  • Escort media and guests to designated areas for interviews, photos, content opportunities, etc.
  • Support department writing initiatives, including press releases, game notes, and postgame notes.
  • Distribute statistical information between periods
  • Confirm and distribute Lineup information
  • Facilitate various requests by media members for information, data, statistics, etc.
  • Research statistical information as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills
  • Current student or college degree from an accredited university
  • A background in public relations or communications is strongly encouraged
  • Experience in customer service or a related field
  • Understanding of sports media
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • Able to take on multiple tasks
  • Previous application of AP Style writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro)
