The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an experienced AFSIM simulation analyst to assist simulation development for the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) through formulating, analyzing, executing, and delivering M&S studies to answer customer questions.

This will require breaking the given scenario into pieces by working backwards from the expected deliverable, mapping the project, and determining timelines. Documentation of this process is critical and should identify steps, assumptions, limitations, knowns, gaps, and issues. The candidate will be required to understand the kinds of models and systems NGIC addresses and collaborate with intelligence SMEs to understand the data and how it needs to be analyzed and then presented to the customer.

Responsibilities:
  • Solid foundation and proficiency in the scientific method and developing a research plan that starts with an ill-defined question and ends with a published report that will stand up to peer review.
  • Conduct experiments to understand the behavior of the system (or SoS) and/or evaluate various strategies for the operation of the system.
  • Technical proficiency with appropriate M&S models (AFSIM plus ODESSA, etc.), tools, and environments to provide an active role in the carrying out of simulations.
  • Use experimentation and testing as a strategic advantage—cutting test durations, revealing critical insights early and often, and turning raw data into insights
  • Recognize how to format a problem or evaluation to take advantage of the DOE process and solution. Collaborate with the team to answer questions such as “What should we test and why?” or “How much testing is enough”. Shorten testing durations of complex systems to enable analysts who need to understand key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Apply the scientific method to support analysis, including statistics and graphical analyses.
  • Write test plans and reports supported by scientific methods.
  • Examine cause and effect; verify controllable inputs and accurate, repeatable measurement systems
Qualifications:
  • Accredited degree in physics, engineering, computer science, applied math, or similar discipline with broad engineering and computer science knowledge. Master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience serving in a M&S role on DoD related programs and projects while utilizing AFSIM.
  • Experience with multiple M&S tool suites, with AFSIM experience a requirement.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
  • C++ programming language and others such as MATLAB, Python, R., etc.
