Job description

The NFL is seeking a full-time YouTube Strategy & Programming Associate to help shape and execute the programming strategy across the NFL's YouTube channel portfolio. This role sits on the Audience Development team, responsible for distributing and programming content across the NFL's digital ecosystem to reach millions of fans daily. You will translate tentpole moments (games, major events, breaking news) and original programming into a clear publishing plan-optimizing packaging, performance, and cross-platform amplification on YouTube and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with team leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy across the NFL's eleven YouTube Channels and operate a year-round content calendar.
  • Manage programming workflows including incoming requests from other departments and proactively sharing content with other digital programming teams.
  • Collaborate with other programming teams such as Free Ad-Supported TV, Social, and Owned & Operated to ensure content is maximized across digital platforms.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with Production, Marketing, and Social Responsibility teams on key content initiatives, advising on how to best produce and package content for YouTube.
  • Provide weekly revenue and key metrics reporting to Business Development, Finance, Audience Development, and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor consumption and performance trends in partnership with the Content Insights team and share insights across the organization, including NFL Clubs.
  • Act as a consultant for NFL Clubs by auditing their YouTube Channels and providing insights and strategic recommendations to improve their performance.
  • Serve as the main contact for all ad-hoc data requests for YouTube performance, putting together easily digestible reports and insights and responding to questions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that content is uploaded in a timely manner to all NFL YouTube channels including long- and short-form formats, ensuring that content, titles, and descriptions meet NFL brand, legal and editorial requirements.
  • Select, edit, and reformat content across the NFL ecosystem, podcasts, social, etc. to engage fans across NFL YouTube channels (e.g. NFL, NFL Flag, NFL Rush, etc.).
  • Brainstorm, research, script, produce and edit long and short form content for the NFL Digital Media ecosystem.
  • Proactively communicate with other programming teams to share upcoming content schedules for cross-platform distribution.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of YouTube programming experience for a major media, sports or entertainment company
  • 1 - 2 years of YouTube Studio or video analytics experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere experience and demonstrated skill in all aspects of video production.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize based on the needs of the business.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and special events/instances of breaking news
  • Strongย knowledge of NFLย football (teams, players, history, major storylines)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred

The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency
