Davidson is seeking a DOORS Migration & Administration Specialist - Huntsville, Alabama.
The Specification Database Analyst is the primary administrator and technical expert for our IBM DOORS infrastructure. This role supports specification change teams in capture of requirement and interface data in the legacy DOORS Classic environment and supports the tool development team in building and troubleshooting custom productivity extensions. This role will also be a key figure in the upcoming technical migration of the specification repository from DOORS Classic to DOORS NextGen as part of the Customer's push to implement enterprise-wide Digital Engineering.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage access control, folder structures, user permissions, and schema configuration in DOORS
  • Classic and eventually DOORS NextGen.
  • Support specification change teams- create change sections, manage views, establish links, assign data IDs, and support data entry.
  • Maintain specification baseline, apply approved changes to baseline, generate and deliver partitions, receive and import 3rd party partitions.
  • Collaborate with the internal tool development team to support build, test, and deployment of automation script sand system extensions.
  • Troubleshoot tool errors encountered by users within legacy DXL scripts or Java extensions. Resolve data corruptions.
  • Generate partitions for data exchange with stakeholder organizations.
  • Support the planning and execution of the structural migration of the specification repository from DOORS Classic to DOORS NextGen.
  • Coordinate with counterparts at Government customer and their contractors.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related technical field required.
  • 3 to 5 years or more of experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Extensive experience using DOORS Classic, with administration experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOORS NextGen including key differences between DOORS NextGen and DOORS Classic
  • Familiarity with DOORS eXtensible Language (DXL)and scripting languages used for DOORS NextGen customizations (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or OSLC/REST APIs).
  • Strong database administrator (DBA) mindset with the ability to isolate application bugs from backend database failures.
  • Experience coordinating with government customers, technical leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent users and engineering workflows in operational environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.

Desired Competencies:
  • Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA)programs or other Department of Defense (DoD)engineering environments.
  • Experience using Digital Engineering (DE) and Model-Based System Engineering in system design and specification.
  • Experience supporting proposal development activities and technical volume contributions.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in classified environments.

  • Current Active DoD Secret Clearance required
